Scope

TREC-COVID is a specific evaluation dataset/test collection and is also used as a component dataset in BEIR. It should not be confused with TREC as an evaluation program or BEIR as a benchmark suite.

Not equivalent to

  • TREC-COVID is not BEIR. TREC-COVID is a component evaluation dataset; BEIR is the benchmark suite that includes it.
  • TREC-COVID is not TREC. TREC-COVID is a specific test collection/challenge dataset; TREC is the broader evaluation program.
