Contributing

Searchplex ID accepts corrections, terminology proposals, mapping improvements, and lifecycle updates through its public repository.

Use the GitHub repository to propose changes: github.com/searchplexai/searchplex-id.

What to contribute

• corrections to definitions, labels, scope notes, or relation notes;
• new concept proposals where terminology is commonly confused or overloaded;
• external mapping fixes for CSO, ACM CCS, Wikidata, or another supported authority;
• lifecycle changes such as deprecation, replacement, or merge recommendations;
• stable Learn more links such as defining papers, official documentation, repositories, standards, or benchmark pages.

Editorial standard

Searchplex ID identifies concepts, not every spelling or source that mentions them. Preferred labels, aliases, observed terms, relations, and explicit non-equivalence should reflect the normalized identity of the concept.

Research provenance informs editorial judgment, but concept records do not become bibliographies or evidence graphs. Use sparse identity-relevant links only where they help readers orient themselves.

Before proposing a change

• check whether the term is already represented as a canonical ID, alias, observed term, or related concept;
• decide whether the proposal is an exact synonym, a community term, a related concept, or a distinct identity;
• prefer no external mapping over a weak or decorative mapping;
• use notEquivalentTo only when it prevents likely confusion, not merely because two concepts differ.

Terminology and registry data contributions are submitted under CC0 1.0. Compiler and site-code contributions are submitted under the repository code license.
